Annelize Fourie BSR OT Annelize visited Vancouver in 2002, loved it so much and never left.She obtained her Bachelors degree in occupational therapy from the University of the Orange Free State in South Africa. Following graduation she went to the USA to work as an Occupational Therapist for 12 months. Upon returning to South Africa she opened her own paediatric private practice, which she ran for 5 years. Additionally Annelize has obtained a diploma in play therapy, as well as training, in Sensory Integration (SI). She also has a keen interest and knowledge about Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT). Annelize immigrated to Canada in 2003 and joined Vancouver Paediatric Occupational Therapists (VPOT) as a full time O.T. and Clinical Supervisor. She has been responsible for introducing the sensory integration treatment approaches previously offered at VPOT. Continuing with her approach of upgrading her education she has taken courses in the Wilbarger Protocols, the Alert Program and Sensory Profiles, which have enhanced her skillful style of treatment. Annelize Fourie is licensed through the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia to practice occupational therapy. She is also registered as a service provider at Autism Community Training (ActBC) and a member of British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists (BCSOT). Annelize spends most of her free time with her husband, baby and 2 adorable step children. She loves reading, hiking and making mohair teddy bears. |
